Keeping with the theme we packed last weekend as full of as many activities as we could.
Friday night Andrew and I each had our work Christmas parties which meant Ev got an evening with Uncle Mike and Aunt Pau.
My team’s party was a 1920s murder mystery cruise on the lake. It was a bit windy but that didn’t slow anyone down.
It was an ok murder game but great fun for us all to be together.
Saturday Andrew and had to make our weekly trip to IKEA for house renovations, we’re so close to being done and even as I type that I know I’m lying to myself. But here it is so far:
That evening we walked the two blocks to Will’s parent’s house for swimming and a bbq.
We ended the weekend at IKEA as well but this time with a different purpose. IKEA just opened in Canberra a few weeks ago and they volunteered to host the Santa Lucia processional this year along with a coffee hour. The Swedish ambassador gave a lovely speech which was followed by the children’s processional and singing and a few songs by an adult women’s choir as well.
It was a really nice evening that reminded me a bit of the ones we used to attend as a child. I really hope they continue doing this for the community and not just because I got my fill of lingonberry juice, pepperkaker and saffron buns.
