I know everyone will be shocked that we’ve just closed off another busy weekend here in the capital, but we did manage to avoid a trip to IKEA which was the first time in about a month we haven’t been.
Friday afternoon Ev’s daycare put on a Christmas party complete with bouncy house and a visit from Santa Claus. Ev decided she needed to be a tiger again because what’s better than running around growling at people.
Saturday we left Ev with Paul and Judy who agreed to watch her while we made the great room switch. It was a situation that suited everyone just fine with Ev getting to take a swim in their hot tub turned mini swimming pool and see her cousin Macy.
Andrew and I worked very hard to get Ev’s room ready and I have to say we are very pleased with the result. Ev has already started to spend a good deal of time in there playing although she still requests our presences for this.
We didn’t manage to get everything done until close to 4pm on Saturday and between the running around and the heat we were eager to accept a dinner invitation from Paul and Judy. After a late dinner we all took a stroll to look at some Christmas lights which Ev really enjoyed and completely tired her out.
Sunday was a bit more calm for us with the last swimming lesson of the year, during which Ev tells me she went under water many times. We rounded out the weekend with an evening of Christmas carols at Paul and Judy’s. It was a nice time to get a bunch of the kids together and with even some of the more reluctant adults, *cough* Andrew *cough*, participating.
In the lead up to Christmas I am pleased to say we have managed to complete our Christmas shopping and are officially ready for Christmas which means I’m going to go spend a few minutes relaxing before it’s here.
