As you know we’ve been waiting and waiting for baby to arrive. We were completely spoiled with Ev who decided to not only come a day early but put a hole so that my water broke long before contractions did. To prove how different the two are we had to wait 12 extra days this time.
In fact, we were on our way to the hospital so I could be induced when the baby decided, as Andrew said, to call our bluff and come out. We dropped Ev off to spend the morning with Will and Pip when my contractions started. Since they hurt a bit I decided to start timing them so we could let them know once we arrived.
We were shown to the birth waiting room while the staff did their shift handover so we kept time and waited. By the time a midwife came to say hi 40 minutes later my contractions were just a few minutes apart which had me convinced it was still erratic pre-labor which I told the midwives. Luckily one of them was back in the waiting room a few minutes later when I had another contraction, she came over and let me know she was going to get someone to put me in s room right away. Needless to say Isabelle Rose was welcomed only a short 2 hours later.
Labor was shorter than Ev’s, which I didn’t believe possible but since it was so quick I once again went with my requested epidural. She came in at a hefty 8.78lbs and 20.6in, long like her big sister.
We’re all settling in to being a family of 4 so now, for what you really want, adorable photos of Isabelle.
