Since Izzy joined us we decided to continue the tradition we started last year and head to Jindabyne for the Easter long weekend.
As with last year Ev’s daycare held an Easter egg hunt the Thursday before the long weekend which Andrew went along to.
We crowded into the townhouse with Paul and Judy for a fabulous weekend of long walks, egg hunts and delicious meals.
We got to test out Ev’s new seat on the pram, which she loves, and checking out the sculpture walk.
Beside the regular Easter events there was also a book festival on for the weekend with readings and parties for kids, we took Ev took a fairy and elf party where she got to help colour a fairy house and have her nails painted.
We arrived just a bit too late for the egg hunt in Thredbo, next year we’re giving ourselves an our and a half because it gets so packed out. Luckily some really nice kids gave Paul some eggs that we could hide for Ev to find since they were all out when we arrived.
What better end to a morning of finding and eating chocolate but a babyccino and jumping off walls with Nana.
This is what I-don’t-need-a-nap looks like.
With the morning taken up by an egg hunt we decided we should repeat the performance Sunday afternoon out at Wild Brumbies. As with last year they hide chocolate eggs for the kids and mini bottles of schnapps for the adults, the family next to us said they made a deal with their kids that they’d buy them chocolate eggs if the kids find them schnapps. It was a beautiful afternoon at my favourite location in Jindabyne. Ev had a blast rolling down the hill and running around after the hunt was over before crashing out in the car again.
Isabelle was unimpressed with the events of the weekend but I’m sure next year she’ll be much happier.
