So it appears Andrew left and I slacked off so we’ll do a whirlwind catch-up.
Last Monday Mom and Dad joined us to hike Mt Kearsarge. We used to hike it almost every summer when I was growing up, and while Ev was probably a bit too young for it and it took a whole lot longer than I was expecting to hike it, 3 hours round trip, we had a good time.
Tuesday Dad had to go back to work but Mom joined us for a day at York, Maine, another summer favourite from my childhood. We played on Short Sands before watching saltwater taffy being made at Goldenrod, tasting liquors from a new distillery and covered ourselves in ice cream while in view of Nubble Lighthouse. We stopped at Stonewall Kitchen headquarters on our way home, if you’ve never been i highly recommend it, they’ve got an almost overwhelming range of food products, so good!
Thursday we packed up and dropped Andrew off at the airport in Boston for his trip home. We continued on to Mom and Dad’s house in CT for the weekend so I could catch-up with one of my friends from uni. As a special treat Mom and Dad took us to the Roger William’s Zoo on Saturday morning. Ev had an absolute blast and was exhausted and overheated by the time we headed home.
We came back to The Cottage Sunday afternoon since Jess and PJ headed out Tuesday afternoon and we wanted to give the kids as much time together as possible.
Ev is already missing her cousin and has asked a few times where Ethan is, luckily Michelle and her daughter Haley arrive on Friday which will make for an awesome and exhausting weekend.
